The Leftist Democrats controlling California and Los Angeles county are failing again. They are failing at some basic, core responsibilities.
Despite people literally fleeing the state, there is again a water "shortage" and residents are yet again being told to reduce their water usage.
Ever look west? California, including Los Angeles county, is on the world's largest body of water.
There isn't a shortage of water. There's a shortage of competent, dedicated service to the residents of California by people who are supposed to be public servants.
The Leftists running the state will blame "climate change" for their failure.
Hogwash.
There has always been changing climate, with some years more dry and other years more wet.
We need to build more and larger systems to turn rainwater and snow into fresh water for our properties. We need to build systems to clean and desalinize seawater and deliver it to where it is needed. We need more systems to trap, clean, store and use stormwater runoff. And yes, we need to turn more wastewater into water for landscaping, irrigation, firefighting, etc. I realize taking water from a river running through the area is a lot less expensive than desalinizing water from the ocean.
But we pay enough in taxes, fees, assessments, and utility charges to make it happen. We've passed enough bonds (which get paid off by taxpayers/property owners).

Water piped to properties in California falls under the jurisdiction of a patchwork of state and local agencies and special districts (which exist per state government). They have no problem funding their offices, vehicles, meetings, seminars, salaries, pensions, health insurance, and other benefits.
Meanwhile, how much public money is being blown on things like the "high speed" rail abomination, identity politics, and so many other pet projects and programs that aren't nearly as high of a priority to the people of California?
Oh, and it's not just climate change that gets the blame. Protecting specific species of fish has also hindered our water supply. Call me species-ist, but I place the needs of human beings over fish, and I know there are work-arounds.
A safe and reliable water supply is one of the main things that allows civilization to flourish, grow, and advance.
California infrastructure is, generally, in relatively bad shape. It's not from a lack of funding. The state is controlled by Leftist Democrats and pretty much has been for a long time. The blame for the waste, fraud, abuse, and incompetency falls squarely on them.
Stop telling people to cut back.
Start serving the people of California.
