About The Playful Walrus

The Playful Walrus was born on Wednesday, July 05, 2006 at 12:42:34 PM EDT when I made the first user-blog entry on Townhall.com. From that moment until Wednesday, April 13, 2011 6:50:52 PM EDT, I blogged at Townhall.com on a fairly regular basis about American, Californian, and Los Angeles politics; the GOP; religion, the Religious Right, and the Bible; the battle of the sexes; homosexuality advocacy and marriage neutering; the absurdities of the Left; the family and parenting; talk radio; pop culture, and lots of other stuff.

It was exciting to be part of what was going on at Townhall.com back then, which was energizing and organizing those in favor of liberty under the Constitution. One of my entries was published in the first or second issue of Townhall Magazine. Some of my stuff was read on top national talk radio shows (including what was the #3 show at the time). I was featured multiple times on the page dedicated to the user blogs, and spent time in the top ten list (when they had one). I also garnered the attention of Leftists, gender confusion types, and marriage neutering advocates, who cited me as they wailed and gnashed their teeth. I even got an award from one.

I switched to blogging at this location due to changes in technology and support of that technology. I want my blog to be as good as I can find time to make it, and as accessible as possible. The Playful Walrus will still be about the same topics featured at the previous location.

Thank you for joining me here. Please follow and/or subscribe to and/or bookmark the blog, Friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. I appreciate all serious feedback (and funny feedback too), whether we agree or not, so comment on my posts or contact me via Facebook, Twitter, or playfulwalrus at...yahoo...dot...com.

  1. Dear Playful Walrus,

Do you have any recommended reading for honing one's skill in logic and debate? Thank you.

  2. I highly recommend checking out Greg Koukl and his organization, Stand to Reason. He/they have "Tactics in Defending Your Faith" and Koukl is co-author of a book on relativism, which is a much of what we deal with these days.

There's also the work (including books) of Paul Copan.

Both men teach people how to hone their skills in logic and debate, although they both do so in the context of defending and promoting Christianity.
