Most Efficient Video Defending Marriage

If you or someone you know wonders what the big deal is about neutering marriage (what some people call gay marriage or same-sex marriage) and why marriage should be defended from attempts to neuter it, you won't find a more efficient video than this one. The one thing I would have done differently is used a better example than drug laws.

Also, see my Reviewing the Basics entry at The Opine Editorials.

I'm not sure why embedded videos disappear from this blog. It's not like Blogger and YouTube are incompatible.

  1. So many false claims in that video, its hard to know where to start.

Video claims: "We know, statistically, that natural marriage creates the best possible family for children."
The research doesn't match the claim. Here's what the researchers had to say on the subject:

"Children being raised by same-gender parents, on most all of the measures that we care about, self-esteem, school performance, social adjustment and so on, seem to be doing just fine and, in most cases, are statistically indistinguishable from kids raised by married moms and dads on these measures" - Timothy Biblarz of the University of Southern California

"There is no scientific basis to discriminate against gay and lesbian parents." - Letitia Anne Peplau, UCLA Research Professor / Phd.

"Adoptive parents invest more time and financial resources in their children compared with biological parents"

Even David Blankenhorn, the star expert witness against marriage equality during the Prop. 8 case, testified that adoptive parents are just as capable as biological parents adding that “the studies show that adoptive parents, because of the rigorous screening process that they undertake before becoming adoptive parents, actually on some outcomes outstrip the biological parents in terms of providing protective care for their children.”

If you have a study that says otherwise, please cite it.

  2. Video Claims: (where same-sex marriage is enacted into law) "Your freedom of speech is gagged"

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. Please cite a case in which the government has interfered with a "marriage defender's" freedom of speech. Please keep in mind that even publicly held companies are not "the government".
